Rose of Tralee Festival 2018

Road Closures:

A number of Road Closures and Rolling Road Closures but traffic will be well regulated during the course of the Festival:

Castle Street – Road Closure

  •  Advanced signage in Boherbee indicating ‘RIGHT TURN ONLY’
  •  Advanced signage at Edward Street indicating ‘LEFT TURN ONLY’
  •  Signage at St. John’s indicating ‘CAR PARKING ONLY / NO THRU TRAFFIC’
    ‘CAR PARK FULL’ which will be put in place for key events
    Signage within St. John’s Car Park and a steward within the area to stop vehicles accessing Denny St when a closure is in place.
    A filtering system in place by stewards at the St. Johns closure will filter vehicles in and out of the St. John’s Car Park area onto Castle St. / Edward St.

FIREWORKS

There will be a fireworks display at the Town Park on the following dates:

 Saturday 18th August 2018 at 11pm.
 Tuesday 21st August 2018 at 12am.

Fireworks shows are both located to the south-western side of the children’s playground in the town park.

PARKING

Car Parking will be advertised and promoted to urge the Festival Audience to park in assigned designated areas of the Dome Car-Park. This will allow for up to 150 vehicles to park on-site.

Multi-story car parks are available at Maine Street, Edward Street and also the Parklands Underground. People entering town should be encouraged to use these car parks as vehicles causing obstruction will be removed.

Parade of the Roses 18/8/18.

The event will commence at 8:30pm on Saturday 18th August 2018 from The Rose Hotel, Fels Point, Tralee.

This event will attract a large number of spectators and to facilitate this and the safe passage of the parade, Road Closures for the following streets from 12pm – 2am:
 Denny Street
 Lower Ashe St
 Lower Castle St
 Courthouse Lane

Rolling Road Closures from 8:30pm-9pm will be in effect for the following roads;
 Dan Spring Road
 Cloonbeg Terrace
 Deans Lane
 Boherbue
 Upper Castle St

ROSE 10KM ROAD RACE SUNDAY 20/8/18

This running event will commence at 11:30am on Sunday 19th August 2018 from The Tralee Bay Wetlands Centre.

It is expected that there will be 200 athletes participating in this 10km event.

The 10km Route is predominantly a clockwise route commencing at The Wetlands Centre as follows;
Ballyard Dan Spring Rd Riverwalk Basin View Lock Gates Lohercannon
Denny Street Castle Street Ashe St Maine Street Rock Street Ballyvelly

ROSE OF TRALEE FESTIVAL 2018

PARADE OF THE ROSES / SKY CELEBRATION 21/8/18

Parade of the Roses & Sky Celebration Fireworks Display. The Parade will commence at approximately 11:30pm on Tuesday 21st August 2018 from Ashe Street Upper, Tralee.

This event will attract a large number of spectators and to facilitate this and the safe passage of the parade, Road Closures  have been granted for the following streets from 8pm – 2am:

 Bridge Street

 The Mall

 Denny Street

 Lower Ashe St

 Lower Castle St

 Courthouse Lane

 Upper Ashe Street (10pm-11:30pm East Side Only)
