Reopening of Registration Offices (18/7/20)

Registration Offices outside Dublin will remain open subject to operational requirements. 

It is advised that only people with appointments should attend. People who are attending their registration appointments may travel outside of their 5km restricted travel zone.  Those attending will be asked to print confirmation of their Immigration appointment to show to Gardaí conducting Operation Fanacht checkpoints.

All permissions that are due to expire from 20th August 2020 and 20th September 2020 are automatically renewed by the Minister for a period of 1 month. The renewal of permission is on the same basis as the existing permission and the same conditions attach. Any permission that was renewed by the notices of 20th March 2020, 13th May 2020 and 16th July 2020 which therefore has a new expiry date between 20th August 2020 and 20th September 2020 is automatically renewed by this notice for a further 1 month.

Reopening of Registration Offices

21 August 2020

Having closed to consider the revised public health guidance issued earlier this week, the Dublin area Registration Office at Burgh Quay will re-open for first-time registrations with effect from 24 August, by appointment. All appointments which have been issued for a date on or after 24 August will be honoured, and the office will operate with strict social distancing measures in place to protect our staff and customers.

The Registration Offices outside Dublin (previously opened) will also reopen on 24 August 2020. Appointments issued for a date after this will proceed with social distancing measures in place.

All renewals in the Dublin area are now being processed online only and the system has been available for all applicants since 20 July 2020 at inisonline.jahs.ie, and renewal applications will continue to be accepted and processed.

Queries and arranging appointments

Email addresses for each registration office are provided for queries and arranging appointments. Individuals wishing to register or renew should contact the Immigration Officer on the email address provided prior to attending at a Garda Station as individuals without an appointment will not be seen.

When you get an appointment

Upon receipt of an appointment, please carefully read the detailed information provided.

• Please DO NOT ATTEND for your appointment if you feel unwell or are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19.
• Please be prepared to adhere to all social distancing and hygiene etiquette protocols in place during the course of your visit and to follow the directions of the Immigration Officer.
• Please arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. To ensure social distancing protocols are adhered to, please do not arrive any earlier. 
• Please do not bring anybody else with you, other than those required for your registration. 
• Children (if not required for the purpose of your registration) should not be brought to your appointment.
• All fees for registration is payable by Credit/Debit card ONLY.
• Your IRP / Residence Permit also commonly known as a GNIB card will be posted to your address and you will not be required to make an appointment to collect same.
• You must wear a face mask to your appointment.
• Persons entering Ireland from other Jurisdictions must ensure they comply with HSE guidelines.
