The Munster Senior Hurling Championship takes place at Pairc Ui Chaoimh on Sunday 12th May 2019. 

Traffic management plan for the event and we hope that everyone attending has a safe and enjoyable day:

There is no vehicular access to the stadium so Gardaí would recommend that anyone attending avail of public transport or walk.

  • There will be traffic delays, so avoid the area if possible.
  • The closer you park to the stadium the longer you will be held back afterwards.
  • Disabled parking ticket holders to approach via Centre Park Road.

Please remember to respect the local residents and businesses when coming and going from Pairc Ui Chaoimh.

GENERAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

Road Closures

From 9:00am parts of Monaghan Road, Centre Park Road, Maryville and the Marina will be closed, as follows:

•             Ardfoyle / Park Avenue

•             Blackrock Road / Maryville

•             Monahan’s Road / Link Road

•             Marina / Church Avenue

•             Centre Park Road Link Road

•             Boreenmanna Road/ Churchyard Lane, (access for residents only).

•             Blackrock Road/Churchyard Lane, (access for residents only).

From 11.45am  further road closures will be in place in the vicinity of the stadium.

Parking & Drop off Area

Parking is available at Cork City Council Carparks:

•             Paul Street

•             North Main Street

•             Bessboro Car Park, Mahon Industrial Estate.

•             Carroll’s Quay

•             Grand Parade

•             St Finbarr’s Wandsford Quay.

•             City Hall

•             Patricks Quay

Further Parking available at:

•             Blackrock GAA, Church Road, Cork

•             Cork Camogie Grounds, Castle Road Cork.

•             Cork Constitution RFC,  Templehill, Cork.

The drop off area for taxis is on Victoria Road, just before Marina Walk.

Bus Eireann Shuttle buses will drop of at Monaghan Road, before the junction with Link Road.

All other large Public Service Vehicles are to set down and pick up on the Boreenmanna Road, near the Maxol filling station.

Disabled Parking

Request for disabled parking should be made through the GAA. Match ticket holders with allocated disabled parking passes are to approach via Centre Park Road. A limited number of wheel chair accessible taxis will be allowed down to the venue after the match.

Transport

Bus Eireann shuttle buses will run from Lapps Quay to Monaghan Road from 1pm to 4pm. Gardaí are advising people to utilise this facilitate as there is no parking around the stadium. The cost for the bus is normal city fare of €2.70, Leap cards may be used. Please note that this is a single trip and no return busses are running.

Stadium Route

The stadium can be accessed from the City centre via Centre Park Road and Monahan Road - 15 minute walk to stadium.

The 202 Bus travels from the city to Blackrock village. Drops and picks up at Ballintemple - 2 minute walk to stadium, via Maryville.

From Blackrock GAA via Church Road, Blackrock Rd, Maryville - 15 minute walk.

From Cork Camogie via Castle Rd, Blackrock village, Marina - 15 minute walk.

After The Event

Following the game we would ask that everyone follows the direction of Gardaí and stewards. The attendance is expected to be in the region of 35,000 so we would ask for everyone to have patience when leaving the stadium and its environs.
