Féile Classical at Semple Stadium, Thurles on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of September 2018

The Féile Classical concerts are due to take place on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd of September 2018 at Semple Stadium, Thurles. 10,000 tickets have been issued for both days and all tickets have now been sold.

Traffic travelling to the event will be directed along designated routes to ensure that they arrive at the car park designated for that route. Each route will be colour coded and will coincide with the car parks in that area.

Access Routes:

There will be 3 primary vehicle access routes to the event. These routes will be colour coded as follows:

Red – Vehicles approaching from East/South

Blue -  Vehicles approaching from North/West

Purple – Local vehicular traffic via R660

Emergency Routes:

Emergency routes will be maintained for all emergency services. They will be designated as a yellow route.

Superintendent Patrick Murphy is appealing to all patrons attending the concerts to be patient and allow sufficient time for their journey and to be guided by Gardai on Traffic Point Duty. Please allow extra time for your journey as a large crowd is expected.

Signage:

All routes to and from the concert venue and car parks will be clearly signposted – the organisers in conjunction with An Garda Siochana will ensure adequate signage is in place the day before the event to help ease traffic flow and for information of patrons attending the event – and more especially as patrons leave the event to return to their vehicles.

Parking:

Illegally Parked Vehicles:

Vehicles found illegally parked will be towed away to the Garda Compound and will not be released until the release fee of €125 has been paid. In addition a prosecution will be instituted against the driver/owner of the vehicle concerned.

Security:

Superintendent Murphy is appealing to all motorists to:

Secure and lock their vehicles.
Leave no valuables on display.
Park in supervised car parks.
All patrons should be aware of pickpockets at the concert and in the environs – beware of your wallet, money and A.T.M/Credit Cards. Do not carry large sums of cash.

Ploughing Traffic:

Patrons should note that the National Ploughing Championships are taking place in Tullamore on Friday the 21st of September 2018 and there will be extra traffic returning from here through Thurles town at the same time as concert goers are arriving. Please ensure you allow extra time for your journey to Féile.

We appeal to all concerned to make this outing a memorable night for the right reasons and to co-operate with Gardai, Stewards and encourage others to do the same.
