Clare V Limerick Cusack Park Ennis 17/6/18

Clare will play Waterford in both minor and senior hurling Championship on the 17th June 2018.

This is a sellout event with almost 19,000 persons expected to attend . The secretary has sought 1 Inspector , 2  Sergeants and 12 Gardai for non public duty at this event. Below please find duty detail pertinent to this event.

Aim

The aim of An Garda Siochana is to assist with the smooth, unhindered flow of traffic outside the ground and to assist stewards with the unhindered flow of persons to and from as well as inside Cusack Park.

Inspector Ryan  will parade all personnel at  11am in the classroom. All members to be at their locations of duty at 11.30.

All members will be in possession of their issued PPE with luminous jacket. Members will also carry their personally issued Tetra radio. The “Clare Div” channel will be utilised throughout. Detective Branch members will assist with transportation of monies to night safe when requested by GAA officials. Raid jackets will be worn.

In the event of an emergency, Garda members will adhere to instructions from Supervisors.

No member is to leave their point until stand down is given by a supervisor.

Parking restrictions

Traffic  personnel will place “No Parking Cones” across the entrance to Cusack Park to ensure access and egress to Cusack Park for emergency vehicles. Cones will also be placed along lower Abbey St. and across from the Cloister (to allow access and egress of buses) ,  Francis Street and along Clon Road to prevent parking on both sides. Crew of CZ 101 will patrol Francis Street from 12md to ensure no illegal parking outside Cusack Park. Buses and team staff will be parked at Cloister entrance. Car parking is available at Clare County Council and at St Flannans , Limerick Rd . Disabled parking will be situated at Clare FM and the Cloister.

Ticket sales will be situated at the front and Cloister Entrances . G4 security will be in attendance.

Traffic and Road Closures

Cones will be placed on the perimeter of Cusack park early on Sunday Morning. Also no parling is to be allowed across form the Cloister to allow access and egress of buses to Cloister Entrance.

The road will be closed at the Causeway link and Francis St.  and at the Belleek shop Abbey St. ( one member at each point  to man same until the start of senior match ) from 12md. Clare County Council will provide barriers for road blockages ( located at the Friary ).

Two motorcyclists will monitor the traffic for the duration of the event. On completion of both games , traffic is to be monitored by non-public members at the

Security spotchecks and queuing system.

Stewards from the GAA will have an organised queuing system for entrance into the grounds. These systems are in place at the front of Cusack Park and at the Cloister entrance. Gardai will monitor these areas and assist stewards if necessary. These areas will be used for security spot checks. An emergency access route will be located at the entrance to the grounds at the yellow box directly opposite Tesco. This area is to be kept clear at all times.

First Aid

Clare Civil Defence will be in situ for the duration of both games.

Members of An Garda Siochana, carrying out their functions, shall at all times respect a persons’ personal rights and his/her dignity as a human being and shall not subject any person to ill-treatment of any kind.
