The Garda Youth Awards celebrate outstanding young people between 13 and 21 years of age and recognises the good work being done by young people throughout the communities.The awards acknowledge the young people who by their presence make their communities and society in general, a better place in which to live. They also acknowledge the endeavours of young people who have faced and overcome challenges in their life.
An Garda Siochana in Waterford in association with Waterford Crystal and Waterford Local community safety partnership invites applications for the Garda Youth Awards 2024.
The Waterford Garda Division Youth awards will take place on Friday the 17th of May 2024 at 6.30 p.m. at City Hall, Waterford City.
We have young people throughout the county doing great things in the community and beyond and it is very important that their contribution is recognised.
Nominations are now invited from young persons aged between 13 and 21 on the 31st of August 2024 for the following categories:
- INDIVIDUAL AWARD: Making a positive contribution to their community, making it a better place to live.
- GROUP AWARD: Groups of 2 or more, making a positive contribution to their community, making it a better place to live.
- SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD: Overcome difficult circumstances, defied all the odds, and whose commitment deserves recognition.
- COMMUNITY SAFETY AWARD: Through a crime prevention or safety initiative / innovation, have made their community a safer place to live.
The closing date for entries is Friday the 26th of April at 5 p.m.
The award can be for any contribution or act prior to the 26th of April 2024 and the person nominated must be a resident of county Waterford.
