Limerick Gardaí in association with Garvey’s Group present the 9th Limerick Garda Divisional Awards celebrating outstanding young people between the ages of 13 and 21 years. The awards are designed to acknowledge the volunteering activities of young people. Also to acknowledge young people who have faced and overcome personal challenges in their lives who are living within the Limerick Garda Division.
The Gardaí here in Limerick recognise that young people in every community throughout the Limerick Garda Division are involved in many positive activities.
The awards are to acknowledge this positive good work and show our appreciation. Not alone is it to acknowledge volunteering work, it could be young people who are involved in fundraising activities or raising awareness of certain issues.
Basically Gardaí are looking for nominations of any young person or group of young people out there who are contributing to their local area in a positive manner. It could be through their activity and contribution to make their community a better place to live in. It is also to acknowledge young people who have overcome personal challenges in their lives.
Nominations are accepted from individuals, community and voluntary groups, schools and youth clubs or other organisations. We are requesting them to nominate a young person or a group of young people whom they feel has made a contribution to their local area. Nomination forms can be downloaded below.
Forms will be distributed to all second level schools, youth clubs and other services in Limerick. If any person requires a nomination form please contact the Juvenile liaison Office at Mayorstone Garda Station 061 456986 or 085 8852588
It is hoped to hold a presentation ceremony in the Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel and Spa, Adare on the 20th of March 2024.
