€5.2 million Worth of Cannabis Seized in Joint Agency Task Force Operation (An Garda Síochána and Police Service of Northern Ireland)

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Organised Crime Branch, working in collaboration with An Garda Síochána National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) as part of the Joint Agency Task Force, seized suspected cannabis worth almost €5.2 million today, 27th April 2026.

Following the stop and search of a lorry travelling from Scotland to Larne Harbour, detectives located and seized suspected cannabis concealed within a large number of boxes.

A man aged in his 50s was arrested at the scene and is being detained at a police station in Northern Ireland.

Investigations are ongoing.
