Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal three-vehicle road traffic collision, that occurred on the N25, at Moonameen, Co. Waterford, this afternoon, Sunday 30th March 2025.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, involving cars, which occurred at approximately 2.10pm.
A passenger of one of the cars (a woman aged in her 60’s) was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Waterford where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
The driver and passenger of the second car (a man and woman aged in their 50's) were conveyed to University Hospital Waterford for treatment of serious injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The female driver of the third car (aged in her 60’s) was conveyed by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 1.20pm and 2.20pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
