Gardaí in Bray are continuing to investigate all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in his 30s following an incident in Bray, County Wicklow on Sunday, 19th January 2025.
A post-mortem examination was carried out by the State Pathologist, Dr. Sally Anne Collis on Tuesday 21st January, 2025 and preliminary results have been provided to the investigating team.
Details of these are not being released for operational purposes. Following the post-mortem, An Garda Síochána has now commenced a murder investigation. Two men, aged in their 20s and 30s that were arrested on Tuesday morning 21st January, 2025 have been released without charge.
A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Two males, (one a juvenile and one in his 20s) remain in Garda custody.
An examination of the scene by the Garda Technical Bureau has now been completed. A senior investigating officer (SIO) is leading the investigation from the incident room at Bray Garda Station. A family liaison officer (FLO) continues to provide support for the family.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them and are seeking any available camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from those who were in the vicinity of a playground off Boghall Road, Bray at the time of the incident.
