Gardaí continue to investigate all the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in her 80s following an incident at a residential property in Carrigaline, Co. Cork on Sunday 23rd February, 2025.

The post mortem has now been completed, the results of which will not be released for operational reasons.

The arrested man, aged in his 30s, continues to be detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in the Southern Region.
