Operation OMENA - Man Arrested and Charged Following Extradition from Romania, Thursday 6th February 2025

As part of ongoing investigations conducted by the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau (GNECB) as part of Operation OMENA, a male aged in his 40’s was initially arrested in 2022 in Romania, on foot of an extradition warrant.

This man was extradited to this jurisdiction on the evening of Thursday 6th February 2025. He has since been charged, and is expected to appear before a sitting of the District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice (CCJ No. 1) this morning, Friday 7th February 2025, at approximately 10.30am.

Investigations are ongoing.
