On Thursday 20th February 2025, as a result of ongoing investigations targeting organised crime activity under Operation Tara, personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau intercepted two vehicle shortly before 5.00pm in the Blanchardstown area of West Dublin.
During the course of this operation 20 kilos of cocaine valued at €1.4 million and €15,000 in cash was recovered and seized.
Two (2) males aged 53 and 49 years were arrested pursuant to Section 72 of the Criminal Justice Act 2006 in relation to facilitating and enhancing drug distribution activities for an organised crime group and are currently detained, pursuant to the provisions of Section 50 of Criminal Justice Act 2007, at a Dublin Garda Station.
Investigations are ongoing.
