Man Arrested Following €2.8 Million Cocaine Seizure at Dublin Port – 22nd September 2024

Gardaí from the DMR North Central Divisional Drugs Unit have arrested a man in his 50s following the seizure of cocaine with an estimated value of €2.8 million (pending analysis) by Revenue officers at Dublin Port on Sunday, 22nd September 2024.

Revenue officers discovered 40 kilograms of cocaine concealed in the floor cavity of a trailer during a search of a vehicle that had disembarked from a ferry arriving from Cherbourg, France.

The man was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in the Dublin Region. He can be held for up to seven days.

The drugs seized will be forwarded to FSI for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
