Gardaí have charged a man arrested following the seizure of a firearm in Carbury, Co. Kildare, on Saturday, 14th September 2024.
At approximately 5 pm, during a targeted operation in the Carbury area, Gardaí seized a firearm (shotgun). A man in his 40s was arrested at the scene and detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in County Kildare.
He has since been charged and is scheduled to appear before Naas District Court on Monday, 16th September 2024.
The operation involved the Leixlip Detective Unit along with local Garda units. The firearm has been sent to the Garda Ballistics Unit for further analysis.
The investigation remains ongoing.
