Operation Fógra - Two Arrests, Dublin - 1st October 2024.

As part of ongoing investigations into drug related intimidation in the North Dublin region, Gardaí in the DMR North with assistance from the Armed Support Unit, arrested two men earlier today, Tuesday 1st October 2024.

 

The men, both aged in their 20s, were arrested under organised crime legislation and are currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007, at Garda Stations in North Dublin.

 

Investigations are ongoing.

Operation Fógra is An Garda Síochána’s response in the DMR to Drug Related Intimidation (DRI) as part of the Garda National Strategy under Operation Tara.

 

Operation Fógra was launched to combat drug related intimidation which has been identified as a major source of community harm and fear in the DMR and is a sinister motive for various forms of criminality.

 

The operation has two (2) underpinning pillars:

 

  • A harm reduction victim centred approach • Information enabled policing informing operational responses.

 

The objectives of Operation Fógra are to support communities, increase frontline awareness of DRI and enhance collaboration.
