Operation Tara: Gardaí seized €110,000 of cocaine, Limerick City, 20th November, 2024

As part of ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of controlled drugs and related criminal activity in the mid-western region, Gardaí from Henry Street Garda Station and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) carried out a search operation in Limerick City on the 20th November, 2024. In the course of operation, searches were carried out at 4 residential properties in the Garryowen area. During the searches, Gardaí seized cocaine with a street value of over €110,000 along with 11,000 Alzopralam tablets. A number of rounds of firearms ammunition and a small sum of cash was also seized. A male in his 20s was arrested and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Limerick Division. All substances seized are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
