Gardaí attached to Stepaside Station and the DMR East Drugs Unit, as part of Operation Tara, carried out a search of a residential property in the Stepaside area of south Dublin, on Sunday, 10th November, 2024.
During the search, Gardaí uncovered a cannabis cultivation operation and seized 37 mature cannabis plants, a substantial quantity of cannabis herb and quantities of suspected MDMA and amphetamine. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is in excess of €300,000, pending analysis.
A man in his 40s was arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently detained at a Garda station in the Dublin region under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996. He can be held for up to seven days.
Investigations are ongoing.
