Fatal Road Traffic Collision – Co.Cork 15th November 2024

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal road traffic collision at Cecilstown, Co.Cork this evening, Friday, 15th November, 2024.  

The collision involved two cars and occurred at approximately 5.10pm. The driver in one of these cars, a man aged in his 20s, was fatally injured.

The driver of the second car, a man aged in his 20s, has been taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment. His injuries are described as serious.  

The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will now be made for a post-mortem examination.   

The road will remain closed overnight and a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators will be completed tomorrow.  

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.  

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
