On Tuesday, April 30th, 2024, just before 8:00 pm, officers from the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) conducted an intervention on two vehicles in the Swords area of Dublin as part of ongoing intelligence-led investigations targeting serious and organised crime in the Dublin Region. Subsequently, searches were also conducted at two residential properties in the Swords and Ballybrack areas of County Dublin.
During this operation, Gardaí seized 6 kilograms of cocaine, 65 kilograms of cannabis, €100,000 in cash, a cocaine press, mixing agent, and three high-value vehicles. The total value of the controlled drugs seized exceeds €1.7 million (pending analysis).
Two males aged in their 40s and 50s were arrested in relation to drug trafficking and are currently detained at a Garda Station in the Dublin Region under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
