CAB Search Operation in County Donegal and Dublin Metrolpolitan Region, Wednesday, 22nd May 2024

A search operation led by the Criminal Assets Bureau was conducted in County Donegal and West Dublin earlier today, Wednesday, 22nd, May 2024.

Support was provided to CAB officers by Gardaí attached to the Milford District, Donegal Division, the Regional Armed Support Unit, Garda Dog Unit and the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB).

Over 70 personnel were involved in 23 searches across Donegal and Dublin West. These locations including dwellings and business premises.

Today’s searches relate to an ongoing investigation into the assets of persons suspected of being involved in drug trafficking on an international level.

The search operation was conducted as part of an on-going proceeds of crime investigation targeting assets, including real estate, deriving in whole or in part from the proceeds of criminal activity.

This particular investigation was supported by a number of Good Citizen Reports (GCRs) and also with the assistance of a Divisional Assets Profiler.


This Organised Criminal Gang (OCG) operates within this jurisdiction as well as Scotland, Spain and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
