Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal two-vehicle road traffic collision involving cars, that occurred on the N24 at Kilsheelan, Co. Tipperary, on Friday 29th March 2024 at approximately 10pm.
A female passenger of one of the cars (30’s) was pronounced deceased at the scene. The body of the deceased was removed from the scene to Waterford University Hospital, where a post mortem examination is due to take place at a later stage.
The male driver (40’s) of the car was conveyed to Waterford University Hospital for treatment for injuries believed be non-life-threatening at this time.
The driver and a passenger of the second car (both males aged in their late teens) were conveyed to Waterford University Hospital for treatment for injuries believed be non-life-threatening at this time.
A female passenger of the second car (late teens) was conveyed to Tipperary University Hospital for treatment for injuries believed be non-life-threatening at this time.
No other injuries have been reported.
The road remains closed at this time and local traffic diversions are in place. The scene is currently preserved for examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam), and were travelling in the area of the N24 at Kilsheelan, Co. Tipperary, on Friday 29th March 2024, between 9.30pm and 10.10pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
