Witness Appeal – Serious Assault Incident in Dublin 2 - 4th June 2024

Gardaí at Pearse Street are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault on Mercer Street, Dublin 2, on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

Shortly after 2:20 p.m., a male in his 20s was seriously injured during an incident in the Mercer Street area. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, and the male was subsequently taken to St. James's Hospital. His injuries are described as serious but non-life-threatening.

Gardaí are seeking any witnesses to this assault to come forward. Additionally, they are asking anyone who was in the Mercer Street area at the time of the incident to contact them.
Road users who were traveling in the area during these times and have camera footage, including dash cam, are urged to share these recordings with investigating Gardaí.

While no arrests have been made to date, Gardaí are following definite lines of enquiry, and investigations are ongoing.
