Gardaí are continuing to investigate a fatal road traffic collision involving three motorcycles that occurred at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, on Sunday 28th July 2024 at approximately 4:40pm.
A motorcyclist, a man in his 30s, and his pillion passenger, a man in his 40s, were pronounced deceased at the scene. The bodies have since been removed from the scene to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, and post-mortem examinations will be arranged.
A second male motorcyclist was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with serious injuries.
A third male motorcyclist was taken to Cavan General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
A technical examination of the scene has been conducted by Forensic Collision Investigators and the R195 at Bellaney has since re-opened.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R195 road at Bellaney, Oldcastle, Co. Meath, between 4pm and 5pm on Sunday 28th July 2024, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
