Gardaí in Dundalk have arrested two men (aged in their 20s) in connection with investigations into the discharge of a firearm and an incident of assault, which occurred at a residential location near Dundalk, Co Louth, on Friday 19th July 2024 at approximately 8.30pm.
Three men (two aged in their 20s and one aged in his 50s) were injured during the course of the incident.
Two of the men (aged in their 20s) were conveyed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
A man (20s) is currently detained pursuant to Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in the Co. Louth area.
A second man (20s) is currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the criminal Justice Act 1984, at a Garda station in the Co. Louth area.
Investigations are ongoing.
