Over €6.8m of cannabis was seized and one man was arrested during the course of a joint operation between the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and Revenue's Customs Service yesterday afternoon (Friday 5th July 2024) in the Dublin 3 area.
During the course of this operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 343kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €6,860,000.
A man in his late 20s was arrested by Gardaí as part of this investigation and he is currently being detained at a Garda Station in Dublin under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
