Fatal Road Traffic Collision – Enfield, Co.Meath – 17th July 2024

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision near Enfield in Co.Meath, which occurred shortly after 2pm, on Wednesday, 17th July 2024.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving two cars on the R148. The driver from one of these cars, a woman (80s), was fatally injured.

The local coroner has been notified, and arrangements will be made for a post-mortem examination.

The driver of the second vehicle was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
An examination of the scene by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators has since concluded. The road has re-opened.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
