€10,000 Tablets and €1,900 Cannabis Seized, and Man Arrested, Tralee, Co. Kerry - 12th July 2024

Gardaí have seized suspected benzodiazepine tablets and cannabis with a combined value of approximately €11,900, and arrested a man (30’s), further to a search operation at a residential premises in Tralee, Co. Kerry, on Friday 12th July 2024.

The search under warrant was conducted by Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit.

During the course of the search, €10,000 of suspected benzodiazepine tablets and €1,900 of cannabis herb were seized.

The male (30’s) arrested in connection with this investigation was detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the Co. Kerry area.

He has since been released without charge, pending a file to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).

The seized drugs will now be sent to FSI (Forensic Science Ireland) to undergo further analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
