Update - Serious Assault Mullingar Co. Westmeath - 7th January, 2024

A man in his 50s has been arrested in connection with a serious assault on Patrick Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath, during the early hours of Sunday, 7th January, 2024.

The arrest took place this afternoon, 8th January, and he is currently detained under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at a Garda Station in the midlands.

Investigations are ongoing.
