Gardaí at Swords were alerted shortly after 10:00am this morning, Saturday, January 6th, 2024, after a lone male entered a bookmakers premises on North Street, Swords armed with a knife. He threatened staff before leaving the premises with a sum of cash and mobile phones belonging to staff members. There was no injuries reported.
A man aged in his 40s was arrested by local Garda units responding to the incident. He is currently detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in north Dublin.
A sum of cash and mobile phones have been recovered.
Investigations are ongoing.
