Gardaí in Kerry have seized two firearms, ammunition, €35,000 worth of drugs and €2,365 in cash following a search operation in Castleisland, Co. Kerry on Sunday 7th January, 2024.
As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí attached to the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search operation of a residence in Castleisland, Co. Kerry.
In the course of the operation two firearms and ammunition, cocaine with an estimated street value of €35,000 and €2,365 cash was seized.
The drugs seized are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
A man in his 40's was arrested as part of the investigation and is currently detained at a Garda Station in County Kerry pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
Investigations are ongoing.
