Issue Date: 14th January 2024
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian that occurred at approximately 4am on Sunday 14th January 2024 on the M1 Northbound near Junction 5 in Lusk, County Dublin.
The pedestrian (a male) was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other injuries to persons have been reported.
The M1 Northbound from Junction 4 to Junction 5 is currently closed with local diversions in place. A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators will be conducted.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M1 Northbound between Junction 4 and 5 between 3:15am and 4:15am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
