On Thursday, January 25th, 2024, during proactive anti-crime patrols, Gardaí from Mountmellick Station conducted a routine vehicle stop, resulting in the recovery of a sum of cash and a quantity of drugs.
The occupants of the car, three adult males were detained under Misuse of Drugs legislation and taken to Tullamore Garda Station.
Subsequent investigations led to the arrest and detention of the individuals in connection with recent retail theft and deception incidents in the region.
Following their arrests and detentions, one male in his 20s was charged and brought before the District Court on Thursday, January 25th, 2024.
The other two males, aged in their 30s and 40s, have also been charged and to appear before Mullingar District Court on Friday, January 26th, 2024.
Investigations are ongoing.
