Two Men Arrested in Connection with Violent Disorder Incident in Limerick City on Friday 9th February 2024

Gardaí in Henry Street have arrested two men as part of an investigation into an incident of violent disorder that occurred at approximately 9:40pm on Friday 9th February 2024 on O'Connell Street in Limerick city. 

Two men received non-life threatening injuries during the course of this incident and later attended at University Hospital Limerick.

A man in his 30s was arrested on the evening of Friday 9th February 2024 while a man in his 20s was arrested on the morning of Sunday 11th February 2024.

The man in his 30s has since been charged and is expected to appear before a special sitting of Limerick District Court sitting at Nenagh, County Tipperary, at 5pm on Sunday 11th February 2024.

The man in his 20s is still being detained at a Garda station in Limerick city under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
