GNDOCB Seize €2 Million Worth of Drugs under Operation Tara, 22nd February 2024

On Thursday 22nd February 2024, as a result of ongoing intelligence led investigations targeting organised crime activity under Operation Tara, officers attached to the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) intercepted two vehicles shortly after 5.00pm in the Blanchardstown area of Dublin 15.

A coordinated planned search of a residential address in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15 was also conducted.

During the course of the operation cannabis, MDMA, cocaine, ecstasy tablets and cannabis jellies with an estimated street value of €2 million was seized. All drugs are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

Three males (aged 35, 40 and 53 years) were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and are currently detained, pursuant to the provisions of Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in Dublin.

Investigations are ongoing.
