€64,000 Drugs Seized in Renmore, Co. Galway, 22nd February 2024

Gardaí seized drugs valued at approximately €64,000 and arrested one man in Remore, County Galway on Thursday evening, 21st February 2024.

While on patrol on the Renmore Road on Thursday evening, Gardaí stopped a male who was found to be in possession of a knife. He was arrested and taken to a Garda station in the North Western Region.

Following enquiries by investigating Gardaí, a search was conducted at an address in Galway. During the course of the search suspected cannabis, cocaine, ketamine, MDMA and ecstasy was seized by Gardaí. The estimated value of the drugs seized is €64,000.

Various drug paraphernalia was also seized by investigating Gardaí. The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

The arrested man (aged in his 20s) is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in the North Western Region.

Investigations are ongoing.
