Witness Appeal - Hit-and-Run Road Traffic Collision, Rathpeacon, Cork, 28th December 2024

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run road traffic collision which occurred in Rathpeacon, near Cork city on Saturday, 28th December 2024.

At approximately 6.45pm Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, on Rathpeacon Road in Rathpeacon.

The pedestrian, a man aged in his 50s, was transferred to Cork University Hospital for treatment.

The car and driver involved failed to remain at the scene. The car was later located a short distance away.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

In addition, road users who may have dash-cam footage of the incident from 6.20pm to 6.55pm are also urged to contact Gardaí.
