Gardaí are investigating an assault on Austin Friar Street, Mullingar, Co. Westmeath on Friday 2nd of August.
Gardaí received report of an incident of violent disorder involving a number of individuals on Austin Friar Street early at approximately 5pm.
A man, aged in his 20s, had been taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries.
Gardaí are also investigating a road traffic collision involving two cars and a van which occurred at 5:10pm.
No other injuries have been reported at this time.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Mullingar Town between 4:45pm and 5:15pm, is asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí
