Cannabis worth over €16 Million Seized in Rosslare, 10th August 2024

Today, Saturday 10th August 2024, Gardaí assisted Revenue officers in the seizure of approximately 783 kgs of herbal cannabis and 70 kgs of cannabis resin, with an estimated value of approximately €16,086,000, at Rosslare Europort.

The suspected illegal drugs were discovered when Revenue officers, with the assistance of An Garda Síochána, stopped and searched an unaccompanied freight unit which had disembarked a ferry.

The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

No arrests have been made at this time.

Investigations are ongoing.
