Gardaí have seized approximately €45,000 of suspected cannabis and cocaine during a search operation in Roundwood, Co. Wicklow today, Thursday 22nd August 2024.
Members attached to the Wicklow Detective Unit, Wicklow Divisional Search Team and the Dog Unit executed a search warrant at a property in Roundwood this afternoon. Cannabis estimated to be worth €40,000 and cocaine worth €5,250 (pending analysis) were seized by Gardaí in the course of the operation. A number of other items of drug paraphernalia were also seized.
A man in his 20s has been arrested under Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act at a Garda station in the Eastern region.
The seized drugs will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for further analysis.
Investigations are ongoing.
