In the first 10 hours of National Slow Down Day, GoSafe checked the speeds of 115,017 vehicles, and detected 174 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.
During the same timeframe, Gardaí conducting high-visibility speed checks across the country intercepted 308 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.
This brings the total number of speed detections between 07:00am and 17:00pm to 482.

• 87km/h in a 50km/h Zone on the Swords Road, Dublin 9
• 78km/h in a 50km/h Zone on the N84 Castlequarter, Cloonboo, Galway
• 84km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the R139 Belcamp, Dublin 17
• 69km/h in a 50km/h Zone on the James Larkin Road, Dublin 5
• 109km/h in a 80km/h Zone on the R314 Rathroeen, Ballina, Mayo
• 194km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N25 Loughaderry, Castlemartyr, Cork
• 81km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the N4 Drishoge, Carrick-On-Shannon, Roscommon
• 108km/h in a 80km/h Zone on the R158 Readstown, Trim, Meath
• 132km/h in a 100km/h Zone on the N13 Teevickmoy, Stranorlar, Donegal
• 77km/h in a 60km/h Zone on the Monaghan Road, Castleblayney, Monaghan
• 64km/h in a 50km/h Zone on the Dublin Road, Kilkenny, Kilkenny
• 102km/h in a 80km/h Zone on the R772 Moyne Lower, Enniscorthy, Wexford
