Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a van and a motorcycle that occurred shortly before 6pm on Tuesday 23rd April 2024 at Ballinahina at White's Cross in County Cork.
The motorcyclist (male, 20s) was pronounced deceased at the scene. No other serious injuries to persons was reported.
The road is currently closed and is expected to remain closed overnight and into tomorrow morning (Wednesday 24th April 2024) with local diversions in place as Forensic Collision Investigators conduct an examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ballinahina area between 5:45pm and 6:10pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
