Gardaí at Dungarvan were alerted shortly after 4:15pm on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, after an individual entered a shop on Emmett Street, Dungarvan wielding a knife. It’s understood he threatened staff before leaving the store after taking a sum of cash. The was no injuries reported.
Subsequently, a man aged in his 30s was arrested by Gardaí responding to the incident and detained for questioning under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in County Waterford. A sum of cash was also recovered.
The man has since been charged and is scheduled to appear before a sitting of the District Court in County Waterford on Friday morning, October 27, 2023.
