Today, Monday 27th November 2023, as part of an intelligence-led joint operation conducted in Cavan by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Cavan Divisional Detective Unit, Revenue officers seized approximately 19.1kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €382,000.
One male in his 30’s was arrested by An Garda Síochána and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a Garda Station in the Cavan area.
Investigations are ongoing in this matter.
In a separate operation conducted on Thursday 23rd November 2023, as part of an intelligence-led operation, Revenue officers seized approximately 29.46kgs of herbal cannabis with an estimated value of €589,200 in West Dublin.
The seizure was made as a result of a joint operation conducted by Revenue’s Customs Service, the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) and the Clondalkin District Drugs Unit.
A man in his 40’s was arrested by An Garda Síochána, he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at Clondalkin Garda Station in Dublin and was later charged with offences under the Misuse of Drugs Act and appeared before CCJ on 25th November 2023.
