Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene a fatal road traffic collision on the Naas Road in the early hours this morning, Sunday 12th November 2023.
The collision occurred at approximately 12:20am in the Red Cow area when a pedestrian alighting from a car was struck by a second car and fatally injured.
The body of the male pedestrian, aged in his 20s, has been removed to Dublin City Mortuary.
The male driver (20s) of the first car and a male passenger (20s) from the second car were taken to Tallaght and St James hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The scene was held and Forensic Collision Investigators have conducted an examination.
A male, aged in his 20s, has been arrested and is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in South Dublin.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the Naas Road or in the Red Cow area between midnight and 12:45am are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
