On Sunday, 19th November 2023, members of the Extradition Unit attached to the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (GNBCI) arrested a man, aged in his 20s, on foot of a Swedish European Arrest Warrant in Dundalk, County Louth.
Members of the Extradition Unit were supported by local Detective Gardaí from Dundalk and the Regional Armed Support Unit in the course of this operation.
The male was brought before the High Court on Sunday, 19th November 2023 and remanded in custody to appear before the High Court again on Tuesday, 12th December 2023.
As this matter is now before the courts An Garda Síochána will not be providing further comment.
