Issue Date: 7th March 2023
Gardaí are currently at the scene of a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and a truck that occurred at approximately 4:00pm, on Tuesday 7th March 2023, on the R487 between Kilbaha and Kilkee, County Clare.
The driver of the car, a woman in her 80s, was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries to persons was reported.
The road is currently closed to allow for a technical examination to be conduceted by Forensic Collision Investigators. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the R487 between 3:45pm and 4:15pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.
