Gardaí are appealing for information following a fire at a house on Mullinary Road, Co.Monaghan which occurred on Saturday afternoon, 11th March 2023.
At approximately 1.50pm, Gardaí arrived to the scene. Upon arrival to the scene, they were informed that a person may have been trapped inside the property.
Despite the presence of thick smoke, two Garda members entered to search the property.
No persons were found inside and fire services subsequently brought the fire under control.
As a result of smoke inhalation, both Garda members, one male and one female, were taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda to receive treatment.
Both members are continuing to recover at the hospital today.
Gardaí in Monaghan are appealing to anyone who may have information or who may have witnessed this incident to come forward to them.
