Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a serious single vehicle road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 12:50am on Tuesday 14th February 2023 on the Ballindine to Irishtown Road (R328) in County Mayo.
The driver, a male in his late teens, who was seriously injured as a result of this collision has since passed away. A file will now be prepared for the coroner.
A female passenger, aged in her teens, was also injured during the course of this collision and is currently being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.
Gardaí are also appealing to those with camera footage (including motorists with dash-cam) who were travelling in the area between midnight and 1am to make this footage available to them.
