Gardaí have seized in excess of €480,000 worth of drugs and arrested one man as part of a search operation in the DMR (North Central) Division on 21st February, 2023.
As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí attached to the DMR (NC) Divisional Drug Unit stopped and searched a vehicle on Mayor Street Lower, Dublin 1 on the afternoon of Tuesday 21st February, 2023. During the course of this search cannabis with an estimated street value of €20,000 along with €6,500 cash was also seized.
One man, aged in his late 20s was arrested at the scene and taken to Store Street Garda station where he was detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.
A number of follow up searches took place in Co. Meath and also North Dublin since 21st February, 2023 and during the course of these searches Cannabis, Cocaine, Ketamine with an estimated street value of €460,000 and drug paraphernalia was also seized. The drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).
The arrested man has been charged in relation to these seizures and is due to appear before Criminal Courts of Justice, Court number 2, this afternoon Thursday 23rd February, 2023 at 4.30p.m.
